Happy Halloween to all my snow-zombies out there! In the event that you've been cooking meth in your basement since Tuesday and haven't managed to look outside then you probably don't know that the Front Range got totally nailed with her first blizzard of the season. What does this mean for the mountains? Actually not much because when it dumps down here the mountains typically don't get shit. This storm was no exception.

So according to coloradoski.com we only have one mountain opening up this weekend but it's a doozy. Wolf Creek is now ready to shred and if you're in the Southwest region of the great state of Colorado you not only owe it to yourself to get out there, you owe it to me as well because I'm not about to drive the five hours it would take me to get down there. Wolf Creek will change your life, just be sure to set your bindings back because all the pow stashes there will eat you alive if you're not careful. I'm not joking here. I almost died there every time I hit that bastard when I was in college. All hail Wolf Creek. That mountain is a god, make no mistake, so treat her with respect.

Up in Summit County there doesn't seem to be too much action. Hey, it's still October for about 13 more hours so stuff it. A-Basin is only reporting 2" in the last 24 hours with an 18" base, and Loveland is checking in with 1" and an 18" base. I'm not sure how this happened because I was out doing snow removal for rich people the past three days so obviously I haven't been riding. It's been getting to me, but today is my second favorite day outside of my birthday and I've got some work to do on my costume so I won't be riding today either.

November 26th is scheduled to be the day when this state cracks wide open. A full-on grip of mountains are going to open that day so brace yourself; it could be overstimulating to say the least. Sadly, Winter Park still isn't reporting an opening day. I think I may have fucked up by getting the WP/MJ pass this season, especially since my boss offered me every other Monday off to go ride. Don't count me out just yet though, surprises abound during the winter and Mary Jane is always epic.

Well that's all I have for this week, kiddos, so keep them edges sharp and that P-Tex waxed to the max.

Shred Hard.

Dave Berry.
